Alberto Padilla

 

               Born in El Fuerte,  Sinaloa, México. Since early age, he defines his inclinations towards art,

                                  his surroundings,   a  small  and humble typical; these images gave him  his  first  motives to 

                                  express  himself;   a  great   river,   abundant  vegetation;  town the  crops,  the cobblestone

                                  streets its main Mexican plaza,   its colonial big houses and the people spirit  Fulfilling him of

                                  reasons of which he frees thru his paintings.

 

               His backgrounds,  his town,  his  family;  with  a  poet  as a grandfather, and a mother that

                                  used  to  transform  the  every  day  and  common  items into art items; they supported him,

                                  they  understood  him,  they  aimed him  to meet his first  teacher, the artist  Raul  Aguilar in

                                  Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico(1970).

 

               Later, he moved  to  the  second largest  city  in  Mexico;  Guadalajara,  Jalisco: His purpose

                                  was  to  continue  his  academic  studies  at the same time to develop his first skills, painting,

                                  conducted by  the prestigious artist Jesus Posada (1973).

 

               He graduates  from  the  architecture  faculty  of  the  University  of  Guadalajara   being to

                                  recognized represent  the  logo  that  identifies  his  generation  1978-1983.  The  Combonian

                                  Seminary   assigned   him   on   the   task  of   making   the  main image  for  their  chapel,  an

                                  interpretation  of the  "Virgin of Guadalupe" with  all  the  abstract  knowledge  that  this  job

                                  needed (1983).

 

               He   travels   to  the  southeast  part   of  Mexico,  to  research   the   Mayan  culture  and  its

                                   architecture, creating 18 oil paintings of The visual identification of each Mayan site, making

                                   this (investigation) his  actual  thesis  of  architecture,  being  exposed, as well, in Paris, and

                                   receiving a recognition (1985).

 

               A study journey begins in Vancouver, Canada where he creates a logo sign for "Le Rail Car"

                                  Restaurant.  He  travels  to  Cairo,  Egypt,  making  graphic  sketches  of this  culture;  being

                                  Jerusalem next in turn where he studies the holly city (1989).

 

               Afterwards,  he decides to  return  to Mexico contributing master pieces to the art auction

                                 "La Escalera Gallería Café"  in Guadalajara,  Jalisco,  México.  During this time he worked as

                                 architect (1994).

 

               Alberto’s artwork caught the attention of  one of the biggest masters in the Mexican Art

                       Armando Anguiano,   he  interviewed   Alberto   for  the  newspaper  “El Occidental’’  in

                                  Guadalajara, Jalisco, México (2003).

 

               During the time he lived in Texas he was in several exhibitions all around Texas (2007).

 

               Actually he lives in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, México. And dedicates his time to

                                 art and architecture.
